BMW EntryNav2 Apple CarPlay OEM Activation

OEM CarPlay activation for EntryNav2-equipped models.

EntryNav2 is BMW's entry-level infotainment unit found on non-navigation and basic-navigation F-Series and G-Series models — and on many of these, Apple CarPlay can still be activated through genuine BMW software, without replacing the head unit.

This activation includes fullscreen CarPlay where the current firmware supports it.

Key Benefits

  • Genuine OEM activation — no aftermarket hardware
  • Works on non-navigation and business-navigation EntryNav2 units
  • Fullscreen CarPlay included where firmware supports it
  • Retains all original BMW systems and functions

EntryNav2 Compatibility

This applies to non-navigation and business-navigation BMW/MINI head units built from around 2017/2018 onward. EntryNav2 units use "WAY" map data, distinct from the "EVO" maps used on NBT EVO systems.

How to Check Your Unit

Go to Navigation → Options → Settings → Position & Version History → Check Version. If the Road Map region shows "WAY", you have an EntryNav2 unit. If it shows "EVO", you have NBT EVO instead — a different activation applies.

Wi-Fi Antenna Requirement

Your EntryNav2 unit needs a WLAN/Wi-Fi port for CarPlay to work. Most US-spec cars already have this fitted; European-spec cars need checking, which usually means confirming via your VIN or a quick look behind the head unit.

Check Your EntryNav2 Before Booking

Send us your VIN via WhatsApp and we'll confirm whether your EntryNav2 unit has the Wi-Fi port needed for CarPlay, and whether fullscreen is available on your current firmware.
